Your first ride for both front (Pilot) & back (Co-Pilot) riders is from our base in Hull, you will go to our local quiet park & practice riding with one of our ride leaders, getting used to stopping & starting, and tandem etiquette. If you are sighted you also experience what it is like as a visually impaired cyclist on the back.

We welcome other disabilities who cannot cycle alone. We have also purchased a few more specialised variations of the classic tandem to cater for those who may have different needs. For instance, we have within our fleet of maintained tandems a Pino HASE which is a half recumbent bike. This allows the Pilot to be on the back of the bike while the Co-Pilot is in a seated position at the front. There are also a few Electric Assist E-Tandems that allow a small motor to help maintain the speeds of a tandem.

After three rides we ask that club members join, this costs £25 per year and goes towards the cost of maintaining our fleet of tandems, tandem trailer and their store.

When you ride there is a charge of £1 for an evening ride, £2 for a full day – this goes toward the cost of using a Sight Support back up minibus and bike maintenance.
