What do we do?

We cycle every Wednesday evening throughout the year which includes a stop to socialise at a local hostelry.

Longer rides take place on Sundays – usually fortnightly throughout summer and vary in length with a café pause for lunch.

The Club also cycle further away with cycling weekends and an annual week's cycling holiday. Past locations have included Horncastle, Harrogate, Helmsley, Norwich, Tadcaster & Lincoln. We take advantage of being close to the ferry terminal at Hull to travel to Holland & Belgium. Longer holidays have included Norfolk, Peak District & Shropshire, in recent years we have visited Normandy, Leiden, Friesland, Dresden & Utrecht.

Back up support is provided by a Sight Support minibus for Wednesday rides and some Sundays, this enables supporters who are unable to ride to join us for the social element & those improving fitness to cycle part of a ride.

Near to the end of the year we have our Annual Christmas Dinner where the whole Club including family and friends can get together through the festive period. We celebrate the year we have had including memories of the rides we have been on. (However challenging they may have been!)

To have some friendly competition between members we have our award night which is hosted once a year. This is where we can hand out awards for those who deserve them. This can include Front Rider of the year, Back Rider of the year and many more. These are voted by the members themselves at the Annual General Meeting.

At the Annual General Meeting, we discuss information about the club like the accounts, voting in officers and go over the meeting notes of the previous meeting to make sure that nothing has been missed. We also discuss future plans like Holidays and major events that we can take part in. It is also a time for members to discuss any queries they may have.
